history

In 1252 Perchtold and Eberhard von Loham ("de Lahaim") appear as witnesses for the abbot Hermann von Niederaltaich . In 1452 the castle in Loham was owned by a Hans Hell. Loham formerly formed a Hofmark in the district court Mitterfels with the former moated castle Loham as the seat of the Hofmarkherrn. The Hofmark also included goods in Hundldorf, Aicha, Moos, Waltendorf and Mariaposching. In 1698 the goods passed from David Freiherr von Wagner zu Sarntheim to Count Anton II von Montfort . In 1719, Ignaz Freiherr von Schrenk von Notzing found himself as the landowner of Loham. The coat of arms of the Schrenk von Notzing family (a black arrow on a silver sloping bar) in today's Mariaposching coat of arms reminds of the family. The property came through the widow Maria Magdalena, born von Neuching, to Johann Anton Joseph Freiherrn von Armansperg.

As part of the restructuring of what is now the Kingdom of Bavaria at the beginning of the 19th century, Hofmarkherr Joseph Felix Ferdinand Graf von Armansperg tried to turn his property in Loham into a local court with its seat in Loham Castle. However, the plan could not be implemented due to new regulations. On August 14, 1821 following his late father Hofmarksinhabers was for the good of the Loham Joseph Ludwig Graf von Armansperg the patrimonial II. Class Loham formed in District Court Deggendorf with jurisdiction over fifty tenants. The official seat was at Egg Castle , and on November 10, 1830, the 2nd class patrimonial court on the Gute Loham was combined with the 2nd class patrimonial court on the Gute Egg. On April 7, 1848, the patrimonial jurisdiction of Loham-Egg was renounced. Administratively, Loham is part of the Mariaposching community and ecclesiastically to the Mariaposching parish. In 1992, the Mariaposching community designated a 6.65 hectare industrial area in Loham.
