Carmen Leccardi

Carmen Leccardi (born August 29, 1950 in Verbania ) is an Italian sociologist.

Leccardi studied sociology at the University of Trento . After doing research and teaching at the University of Calabria , she has been teaching at the Università degli Studi di Milano - Bicocca in Milan since 1995 , from 2004 as full professor of cultural sociology . From 2013 to 2015 she was President of the European Sociological Association (ESA).

Her research focuses on the processes of cultural change with special consideration of the generation and gender aspects as well as the sociology of time .
