The Carnegie Library is a library location of the Reims City Library . There are also 5 other libraries and a book bus .

Construction began in 1921, the inauguration in 1928. The Scottish industrialist and steel magnate Andrew Carnegie acted as patron and name giver, who made the funds available after the First World War. Carnegie's concern was to give everyone access to a free public library so that no one would be excluded from education.

The architect Max Sainsaulieu designed the plans. The construction took into account the latest developments in library science at the time .

This Art Deco masterpiece has exceptional furnishings. These include the chandelier in the large entrance hall, designed by Reims maître-verrier Jacques Simon, and the large glass roof of the reading room by Jacques Grüber .
