Carola Fleischhauer , née Weißenberg (born December 24, 1962 in Berlin-Hohenschönhausen ) is a former German figure skater .

Carola Weißenberg began taking her first steps in ice skating at SC Dynamo Berlin in 1965 . Since 1974, from the age of eleven, Weißenberg, who was able to jump a double axel at the age of nine, has been active in national and international competitions. In the same year she appeared for the first time in the GDR championships for seniors and won Spartakiade gold . From 1978 to 1980 she was a participant in the European and World Championships for seniors and achieved her greatest sporting success at this time. She took part in international tournaments in England, Russia and Austria, among others, and was able to take first places there. In 1980 she ended her active career after the World Championships in Dortmund, in which she was somewhat overshadowed by her more successful competitors Anett Pötzsch and later Katarina Witt . Then Carola Weißenberg began studying to be a primary school teacher and educator. After graduating, she worked at several schools and other children's facilities and has been running a kindergarten for several years. She has been married since 1987 and now bears the family name Fleischhauer. In 1988 she became the mother of a son. She remained loyal to sport and today works as a supervisor in popular sports.
