history

The Rhinos were founded in 2000 and started in the same year as one of the fifteen participating franchises in the newly founded af2 .

In three years of league membership, the franchise made it into the playoffs twice, but failed at the latest in the semi-finals. For af2 standards, the Rhinos had a very decent average audience of 7,748 in the three years.

The owners of rhinos Scheer Sports, Inc . around Carl Scheer, announced the end of the Rhinos at the end of 2002. The reason for this was that the company wanted to put their strength and energy into their two ice hockey teams, the Greenville Grrrowl and the Charlotte Checkers .
