Caroline Krook

Caroline Krook (born November 18, 1944 in Stockholm ) is a bishop of the Lutheran Church of Sweden .

Krook, who was ordained in 1969 , was cathedral priest at St. Nikolai Church ( Storkyrkan ) in Stockholm from 1990 to 1998 . From 1998 to 2009 she was the successor to Bishop Henrik Svenungsson and headed the Stockholm diocese . She was the first female cathedral priest and, along with Christina Odenberg and Antje Jackelén, was one of the first women in the Church of Sweden to hold the office of bishop. In November 2009 she was succeeded by Eva Brunne .
