The diocese of Stockholm ( Swedish Stockholms stift ) is one of the thirteen dioceses within the Church of Sweden . Today's most populous diocese in Sweden was founded on March 11, 1942 and consists of 68 parishes ( församlingar ), which in turn are grouped into 13 church districts.

Geographically, the diocese is slightly smaller than the province of Stockholm County . The seat of the bishopric is Sweden’s capital Stockholm with the Storkyrka as the bishop’s church. From 1998 to November 2009, Caroline Krook was bishop of the diocese. Her successor was Eva Brunne on November 8, 2009 . Andreas Holmberg has been Bishop of Stockholm since March 5, 2019 .
