More Experience is a Jimi Hendrix - cover band from Switzerland , posing as Trio has devoted to the music of the late 1970 guitarist Jimi Hendrix and in live performance improvisation stands out. The band has given over 700 concerts and toured a.o. a. with the deceased members of the Jimi Hendrix Experience , Noel Redding and Buddy Miles .

history

The band was founded in September 1987 by the guitarist and singer Marcel Aeby as a classic power trio . The first official appearance followed in Basel in February 1988 . The group went on tour through Spain and in 1990 played at the week-long Hendrix Memorial Festival at the Paris Olympia , with Randy California and Noel Redding , among others . In December 1990 the LP Yes We Are was released , a live recording from a Basel club.

In 1991 More Experience performed at the " Electric Ladyland " festival in Paris together with the American singer Carol Miles. In April 1992 the band played at the Uni-Fest in Barcelona in front of 12,000 spectators during what is now the third tour of Spain . This was followed in the summer of the same year in Ravenna (Italy) together with Randy Hansen and Uli Jon Roth .

In April 1994, the trio performed at the legendary La Locomotive in Paris in front of 1,100 spectators and was then referred to as the favorite Hendrix cover band by the French music magazine Rock & Folk . At a concert in Ternate (Italy) the trio was reinforced by Noel Redding. In November 1994, 14 sold-out concerts were given in Spain within 17 days.

At the beginning of 1995 More Experience played on the occasion of the 25th year of Jimi Hendrix's death at various concerts in northern Germany and Switzerland. Another series of concerts in France followed at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, where Nine Below Zero and Calvin Russell also performed. The band also played three concerts with Alvin Lee . In the late autumn of 1995 the group toured France and Italy for 30 days with Noel Redding (including a live appearance on France 3 ). At a festival with over 30 bands in Epinal (France) in January 1996 , More Experience and Calvin Russell were the headliners, with the performance being recorded by three television stations.

After the trio was invited to London to unveil a Hendrix plaque by Hendrix's penultimate friend, Kathy Etchingham , they played in Colombes near Paris on the 27th anniversary of Hendrix's death . In 1997 the group went on a 20 concert tour through Italy with Buddy Miles.

After touring Germany and Italy in 1999, the band performed in Fehmarn at the Jimi Hendrix Revival Festival , based on the Love and Peace Festival of 1970.

Today More Experience tour mainly in Switzerland.
