Carrington is an impact crater on the northeastern front of the moon . It lies west of the Lacus Spei and northeast of the Schumacher crater . The edge is moderately eroded, the inside relatively flat.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the British astronomer Richard Christopher Carrington .
