Carsten Ström

Carsten Ström (* 1913 in Malmö ; † 1995 ibid) was a Swedish artist , including children's book author , graphic artist and ceramist . He is the author of the books on Gummigutta, which have been translated into Norwegian and German, among other things.

Carsten Ström was born in Malmö in 1913. It was there that he began his career as a painter and draftsman: the original logo of the Malmö Music Theater came from him. He studied in Berlin and at the Copenhagen Art Academy. As he himself wrote, his art was strongly influenced by characters from the world of legends. His vivid imagination provided the inspiration for his children's books. In later years he tried to make a copy of the Turin shroud using medieval techniques . Carsten Ström died in Malmö in 1995.
