Carter Jones (born February 27, 1989 in Maplewood ) is a retired American cyclist .

Career

Carter Jones drove for Jelly Belly-Kenda in 2010 . That year he was second in the national championship in the individual time trial of the U23 and fourth in the professionals in the national championships in road races.

In 2011 he went to Trek-Livestrong . At the Tour de la Guadeloupe 2011 he won the junior ranking and was third overall in the overall ranking. In 2012 he won a stage of the Tour of Southland and the junior class at the Cascade Cycling Classic .

At the California Tour 2013 Jones won the mountain classification. The following year he switched to Optum-Kelly Benefit Strategies and won the Tour of the Gila . In 2015 he signed with the UCI WorldTeam Team Giant-Alpecin .

In July 2016, Jones retired as a professional cyclist.
