Carvoeiro is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in the northern Portuguese district of Viana do Castelo in the Minho-Lima sub-region . The community had 1108 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
On September 29, 2013, the municipalities of Carvoeiro and Barroselas were merged to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Barroselas e Carvoeiro .
