Casa das Rosas - Espaço Haroldo de Campos de Poésia e Literatura ( German  Rose House ) is a museum and cultural center in the Paraíso district of São Paulo , Brazil, on Avenida Paulista No. 37.

history

Designed in 1930 by Francisco de Paula Ramos de Azevedo in an eclectic with classic French-influenced style and completed in 1935, the villa was the town house of the Ramos de Azevedo family until 1985.

On October 22, 1985 the Casa das Rosas was added to the Livro do Tombo Histórico list of monuments by the Condephaat . After a renovation, the Casa das Rosas reopened on September 19, 1995.

In 2004 Casa das Rosas changed its name to Espaço Haroldo de Campos Poesia e Literatura (German: Poesie- und Literaturhaus Haroldo de Campos). The Casa das Rosas has a legal mandate:

  • The promotion and dissemination of poetry and literature in general,
  • The conservation of the Haroldo de Campos collection (donated by his family),
  • The preservation of the listed building.

Under the direction of the Minister of Culture of the State of São Paulo, around 80,000 visitors per year take part in courses, workshops, exhibitions and presentations of various kinds at the Casa das Rosas.
