Casino with casino space

The Casinoplatz is a place in Bern , Switzerland named after the casino at the time .

location

The Casino Square opens to the west in the Kochergasse , in the northwest in the Amthausgasse , north on the Theater Square , in the north-east into the hotel streets , to the east in the Herrengasse , in the southeast in the Frickweg , in the south to the Kirchenfeldbrücke and southwest into the Bundesterrasse .

history

It was not until April 12, 1911, that the square in front of the casino, which was completed in 1908 (at that time mostly written as a casino), was given the name Casino Square. The names Polizeigasse and Aulastrasse were deleted at the same time. The topography between Bellevue and Casino was significantly changed through the construction of the casino car park and the filling of the tannery . It has only been customary to write the name of the square consistently with C since around 1950.
