Caspar Jenny (poet)

Caspar Jenny (born March 17, 1971 in Basel ) is a Swiss poet and painter.

Life

Grew up in Greece (Ios island) and in the canton of Ticino ( Carona village ) in an artists' commune. After graduating from high school, worked as a freelance painter in various studios. 1999 short film In nuce ein poem for 3sat . Travel to India and Southeast Asia. From 2003 to 2010 studied philosophy, German and ethnology. He has been working as an asylum observer for an aid organization (SAH) since 2008. He published several essays and poems in etcetera , Krautgarten and Der Dreischneuss . The Stalker Magazine rated the novel Der Waran with 7 out of 10 points and said that the book was hard food and put its finger in the wound of our society.

Photographs for Basel discoveries with Christoph Goichon (text and idea). The unconventional city guide has a philosophy of strolling, i. H. the discovery of slowness in an accelerated world. The black and white photographs contribute to this deceleration. The title was discussed in the Baden newspaper under the heading "Admission only in a roundabout way".

His father is the writer and publisher Matthyas Jenny , his sister the writer Zoë Jenny .
