Caspar Schlumpf (Mayor)

Caspar Schlumpf († 1524 in St. Gallen ) was first mentioned in 1500 in St. Gallen and was a mayor of St. Gallen ( Switzerland ).

Life

Caspar Schlumpf was born as the son of his father of the same name, Caspar Schlumpf, Elfer and councilor.

From 1500 to 1508 he was a guild master in the weavers' guild and during this time from 1505 to 1508 he was sub-mayor.

From 1510 to 1524 he alternated with Heinrich Hochreutiner (until 1513), Jacob Krum and Kaspar von Fahnbühl (elected in 1514) every three years as mayor , former mayor and imperial bailiff .

Caspar Schlumpf was married to Elsbetha Varnbühler, co-owner of a canvas company. His grandson of the same name, Kaspar Schlumpf , became a very wealthy businessman and also mayor of St. Gallen.
