Jacob Krum

Jacob Krum (also Jacob Krom ; * unknown; † May 17, 1527 in St. Gallen ) was a mayor of St. Gallen ( Switzerland ).

Life

Krum was the son of Ulrich Krum, a member of the Notenstein Society , and his second wife Sybilla, daughter of Heinrich von Landenberg .

From 1500 to 1509 he was councilor and from 1509 to 1527, alternating with Caspar Schlumpf (elected 1510), Kaspar von Fahnbühl (elected 1514), Othmar Appenzeller (elected 1524), Christian Studer (elected 1525) and Joachim Vadian (elected in 1526) works every three years as mayor , former mayor and bailiff . During the transition from the city of St. Gallen to the Reformation, he was mayor and did not hinder the Reformation movement that began in 1522.

In 1519 he took part in the wedding of Joachim Vadian and Martha Grebel as best man .

Jacob Krum was married to Ursula, daughter of Conrad Endgasser (1415–1496), member of the Society of Notensteiner, since 1485.
