Christian Studer (* 1458 in St. Gallen ; † December 30, 1531 ibid) was a Swiss merchant and mayor of St. Gallen (Switzerland).

Life

Christian Studer was the son of Hans Studer (* 1415; † unknown) and his wife Anna Mäder (* 1420; † unknown) from Waldkirch .

As a linen dealer he was a member of the weavers' guild. In 1511 he co-founded a trading company in Nuremberg with Hans Heuss.

In 1488 he took part as a captain in the battle of Saint-Aubin-du-Cormier and led the Swiss troops in the Guerrefolle .

1501-1502 he was municipal judge , 1513 treasurer , and in the period 1514-1516 and 1524-1525, he was councilman in St. Gallen, in that time, he was from 1519 to 1524 Stadtammann .
