Heinrich Hochreutiner

Heinrich Hochreutiner ; and Heinrich Hochrütiner ( was the first time about 1490 St. Gallen mentioned, † 1513 ) was a mayor of St. Gallen ( Switzerland ).

Life

Heinrich Hochreutiner was born the son of his father of the same name Heinrich Hochreutiner (* unknown; † 1495), councilor in St. Gallen, and his wife Else vom Steig.

He was one of the owners of a canvas company active in long-distance trade, the Hochrütiner'sche Handelsgesellschaft , which he had probably already taken over from his father and which is documented as trading in Spain and France from 1474 to 1523

In 1490 he was one of the city ambassadors at the peace negotiations in Einsiedeln over the Rorschach monastery quarry during the St. Gallen War .

In 1497 he had a house, the Falkenburg , built on the Bernegg slope , which was acquired by the city in 1660 and served as a summer residence for the ruling mayors. Today there is a restaurant in the house.

In 1499 he was the highest captain of the St. Gallen over a contingent of 200 St. Gallen in the Swabian War .

In 1496 he became sub-mayor, in 1499 court judge , and from 1505 to 1509 he alternated with Caspar Rugg , Hans Studer and Hans ab der Rüti and then alternated with Jakob Krum and Caspar Schlumpf until 1513 every three years as mayor , old mayor and imperial bailiff .

In 1501 the future Emperor Maximilian I raised him to the nobility and he received a letter of coat of arms.

Heinrich Hochreutiner was married, his daughter Kleophea was married to the mayor Ambrosius Schlumpf .
