Cassandra's Run is the name of an interactive Dark Future - radio play .

action

Nuremberg in 2036+. The multicompany NorCon controls all aspects of public life. But not everyone believes the illusion of an ideal world: the "brainZ" are a resistance group. Your means of communication is the old, forgotten radio station Radio Z. From there, moderator Sul coordinates the missions of his runners who carry out dangerous missions for the resistance for money.

One of the most talented of these modern day cyber mercenaries is Cassandra.

General

In 1999 Stefan Gnad and Jörg Pelleter plan a radio play in a cyberpunk scenario.

The unique selling point of this series of radio plays is the interactive element: the listeners (called "brainZ") are part of the action and can vote to influence the further course of the run by making decisions or solving puzzles. The majority determine how the story continues. A simple example of such an interactive decision would be whether the heroine Cassandra should go through the left or right door. If the brainZ decides on the right door, the adventure continues through it, and the entire route that was pre-produced for the left door ends up in the trash, unsent.

The series will be produced from summer 2000 by a team of five, consisting of Sabine Reichel, Peter Romir, Stefan Gnad, Jörg Pelleter and Sven Rödig, under the name Hör-Q-nst Nürnberg .

All parts of Cassandra's Run take place in Nuremberg , the hometown of the makers. The stories are designed in such a way that they theoretically play out in real time. There is no narrator in Cassandra's Run.

The first five adventures live on the small free Nuremberg Alternative stations Radio Z played. The route chosen by the brainZ by phone, fax and email then ends up in a non-interactive radio play version for free download in MP3 format on the Internet.

After a few minutes after the start of the "Scanesis" run in December 2008, both the Internet stream of Radio Z and the creators' pages collapsed under the onslaught, in December 2010, hör-Q-nst Nuremberg decides the next part "Rauschgold" for the first time only play via internet. The brainZ have 72 hours at each fork in the road to submit their decision on how to proceed by e-mail. As before, the majority of the validly cast votes decide.

In 2010 Peter Romir left Hör-Q-nst Nuremberg, 2011 Sabine Reichel. In December 2012 the remaining team brought out the stage play "Willy Blau" in a radio play version, which will be played again on www.cassandrasrun.de.
