Cassius Dio (Consul 291)
Cassius Dio was a Roman senator who lived at the end of the 3rd century AD.
Cassius Dio was believed to be a descendant (perhaps grandson or great-grandson) of the historian Cassius Dio , whose family came from Nikaia in Bithynia . Cassius Dio was in 291 together with Gaius Iunius Tiberianus ordinary consul . He then went to the province of Africa as proconsul , which he probably administered from July 294 to July 295. The city prefecture of Rome (296-297) formed the end of his career .
Cassius Dio is sixth on an inscription from Rome on a list of senators, each wearing 400,000 sesterces , likely for the cost of a building.
