The Castelló Masters was a golf tournament that was played on the European Tour until 2011 . It took place for the first time in October 2008 and took the place of the previous Mallorca Classic . The event was held in the Club de Campo del Mediterráneo in Castellón , Spain .
The opening event was won by the Spaniard Sergio García , who was also the host of the tournament, since he grew up playing golf on the course and his father is a club professional . García finished twenty under par with 264 strokes and won three strokes ahead of Peter Hedblom .
In 2010, 17-year-old Italian Matteo Manassero triumphed by four strokes ahead of Ignacio Garrido , making him the youngest player to ever win a tournament on the European Tour.
