He became a professional golfer in 1988 and first came to the European Tour in 1990 . On the second-ranked Challenge Tour in 1991, he recorded two tournament victories. From 1994 to 1997 Hedblom had his best seasons on the big tour and celebrated his first tournament win there in 1996 at the Moroccan Open . This was followed by lean years - in December 2001 he broke his leg at a private ice hockey game and had to pause a large part of the 2002 season - before he achieved his best place in the European Tour Order of Merit in 2003 with a 35th place could achieve. Since then, thanks to good results, he has been constantly in the safe regions to stay on the tour. At the US Open 2006 he got into the center of the golf public on the third day when he hit a hole-in-one on the third hole and an eagle two holes later and he was in the top field for a long time. Finally, Hedblom took a respectable 21st place.
Peter Hedblom is one of the happy guys on the tournament scene. He has been married to his wife Anna since 1999 and has three children.
