Castellani painter (Attic vase painter)
The Castellani Painter is an Attic vase painter of the black-figure style . His creative period is in the second quarter of the 6th century BC. BC.
The Castellani painter is best known for his drawings on Tyrrhenian amphorae , he is considered the most important painter of this type of vase. He is known for the use of a plant frieze above two animal friezes and his humorous depiction of large-headed people and mythical beings. He received his emergency name because his name vase was in the Castellani collection .
