The Castillo de Mequinenza is a castle in Mequinenza , a municipality in the province of Saragossa in the autonomous region of Aragon ( Spain ), which was built in the 13th and 14th centuries. History and description

The castle is located at the confluence of the Segre , Cinca and Ebro rivers . After the Reconquista in 1141, the castle became the property of the Moncada family.

The fortress is built on a trapezoidal plan, it is reinforced with rectangular towers. Inside the castle, whose current shape was mainly created in the 14th and 15th centuries, Gothic halls are still preserved, which are arranged around a central courtyard.
