Castle Close

Castle Close

Castle Close is an earthwork or a Hill Fort of the Iron Age at the village Studleigh in the English county of Devon . The round earth walls are about 208 meters above sea level and are marked on maps as a settlement.

The walls are not as clearly defined as others in the vicinity, e.g. B. Huntsham Castle , Cranmore Castle and Cadbury Castle , but show the typical shape of an Iron Age enclosure. The aforementioned Hillforts can be seen from the center of Castle Close, which indicates that they were all used at the same time.
