action

Cat Shit One is about the three American soldiers Perkins ( パ ー キ ン ス ; short name Perky, パ ッ キ ー ), White ( ホ ワ イ ト ; short name Rats, ラ ッ ツ ) and Botasky ( ボ タ ス キ ー ) and is set during the Vietnam War . You belong to the Cat Shit One reconnaissance unit . Each chapter represents a mission of the soldiers portrayed as rabbits (Japanese usagi as an allusion to USA GI ). The manga takes a critical look at the parties involved in the war, which are symbolized by different species of animals. There are the Americans (rabbits), the Vietnamese (cats), French (pigs, alluding to truffle pigs ), Chinese (panda), Japanese (monkeys or gorillas), Russians (bears), Koreans (dogs, alluding to) on the Bosintang dog court ), British (rats, alluding to the Desert Rats ) and Australians (kangaroos) in their respective representations. At the end of each issue there was an additional chapter labeled Dog Shit One . In these sections, detached from the main plot, human figures were presented.

In the sequel Cat Shit One '80 , the action shifts to the 1980s and follows the rabbits in various smaller conflicts. The parties of the Germans (foxes, alluding to Erwin Rommel ), the inhabitants of the Middle East (camels, donkeys and sheep) and the Argentinians (cows) have been added.

In the anime spin-off , the plot is shifted directly to the Middle East in 1991, where Americans were kidnapped by the terrorists (camels).
