The Catalina Flyer is a 27 knot catamaran speedboat that sails between Newport Beach and Santa Catalina Island in the US state of California . The connection has been operated by "Catalina Passenger Service" since 1988.

The ship docks near the historic Balboa Pavilion and sails once a day to Avalon , the island's capital. The crossing takes about 75 minutes.

The Catalina Flyer is the largest catamaran on the west coast of the United States designed to carry passengers. It has a length of 37 meters and a width of 18 meters. The ship can accommodate up to 500 passengers.
