Catharina Christina von Ahlefeldt (* November 4, 1687 ; † May 8, 1726 ) was Duchess of Schleswig-Holstein-Glücksburg .

Life

Catharina Ohristina von Ahlefeldt was the granddaughter of Detlev von Ahlefeldt and was born on November 4, 1687 as the daughter of Detlev Siegfried von Ahlefeldt on Brodau. On June 19, 1713, she married the Royal Polish Major General and Colonel Count von Johnston, a native of Scots, who died the following year. As a widow she was the chief stewardess of the Queen of Denmark and met Duke Philipp Ernst of Schleswig-Holstein at the Danish court, who made her duchess on June 20, 1722 and married her on September 2, 1722. She died on May 8, 1726 and was buried on June 30, 1726 in the Glücksburg Palace Chapel.
