Catherine Jinks (* 1963 in Brisbane , Australia ) is an Australian author of books for children and young people.

Life

Catherine Jinks grew up in Papua New Guinea because of her father's employment with the army . After returning to Australia, she attended Ku-ring-gai High School. From 1982 to 1986 she studied Medieval History at the University of Sydney . Her first book "Pagans Crusade" was published in 1992. It won the Children's Book Council of Australia (CBC). In the same year she married Peter Dockrill and moved to Nova Scotia . In 1994 she returned to Australia and has lived in New South Wales since 1998 .
