Catherine Massip
Catherine Massip (born May 12, 1946 in Paris ) is a French library curator and musicologist .
Life
Massip studied at the École Normale de Musique de Paris , the Paris Conservatory , where she won first prizes in music history and musicology, and finally at the École nationale des chartes , where she received her diploma in 1973.
In 1973 she was appointed curator of the music department of the Bibliothèque nationale de France . She spent her entire career there, heading the department from 1988 to 2012.
Massip taught musicology at the École pratique des hautes études and conducted research at the Institut de recherche sur le patrimoine musical en France.
