Cay Kristiansen

Cay Kristiansen (born June 19, 1925 in Copenhagen - † February 27, 2014 ) was a Danish actor .

Life

Cay Kristiansen completed his acting training until 1952 at the Danish Royal Theater , in the following decades he worked at important theaters in the country. He also received professional vocal training and therefore played in several operas , including Figaro's wedding at the Fynske Opera in Odense . Kristiansen primarily worked on stage, which is why he only appeared in a few cinema films or television productions in the course of his career. He became internationally known for roles in two film classics with a religious theme: In Carl Theodor Dreyer's Das Wort , he played a farmer's son in love in 1955, and in Babette's 1987 festival, the role of fellow believer Poul. Even at the age of over 80, Cay Kristiansen was still on stage as a stage actor until at least 2008.
