The Cayuse Pass (4,675 ft (1,425 m)) is a mountain pass in the Cascade Range in Washington State .
The pass is located approximately 32 mi (51 km) southeast of Enumclaw on Washington State Route 410 . The intersection with Washington State Route 123 is on the pass.
Cayuse Pass connects Packwood with Enumclaw via State Route 410 and State Route 123 . Due to its high altitude, it is usually closed in November due to heavy snowfall and the risk of avalanches . Snow depths of 15 ft (5 m) are not uncommon. The pass usually reopens in mid-May.
As part of the National Scenic Byway program , State Route 410 over the Cayuse Pass has been designated a Chinook Scenic Byway by the US government .
