The Cecil Cave ( Norwegian Cecilhola ) is a surf cave on the west coast of the Antarctic Peter I Island . It is located in the southern part of Cape Ingrid .
The Norwegian captain Eyvind Tofte discovered and named them in January 1927 during the Antarctic voyage of Odd I (1926-1927) financed by the Norwegian whaling entrepreneur Lars Christensen . Tofte and his second mate had rowed into this cave in their unsuccessful attempt to set foot on the island.
