Cecilia Keaveney

Cecilia Keaveney (born November 27, 1968 in Derry , County Londonderry , Northern Ireland ) is an Irish politician of the Fianna Fáil .

Keaveney was born in November 1968 as the daughter of future MP Paddy Keaveney . She attended Carndonagh Community School and later studied at the University of Ulster at Jordanstown , where she earned a Bachelor of Music (B.Mus.), A Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) And a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) for Music lessons, received. Keaveney was now active as a music teacher.

On April 2, 1996 she was elected for the first time for the Fianna Fáil in the Dáil Éireann in a by-election in the constituency of Donegal North East . The by-election was necessary after the death of Neil Blaney , a member of the Independent Fianna Fáil . In the next regular elections in 1997 and 2002, Keaveney was able to defend her mandate. However, in 2007 she did not succeed in doing this. Instead, she was elected to the Seanad Éireann .
