layout

The Cecilienplatz was designed in 1995 and is divided into three large individual areas. In the center there is a large area that is laid out with paving stones. A channel about 20 centimeters and 40 meters long runs through this center, from which water is channeled through granite steles over Cecilienplatz. In the northeastern part, the interior design The Encounter - spray towers made of fountains and sculpture was designed by the landscape architect Barbara Hanke and the sculptor Kai-Uwe Dräger in 1995. These include granite pillars, limestone, steel beams, and bricks. The 40 meter long diagonal channel runs in front of it. The interior design represents the central square. Furthermore, the entire Cecilienplatz is surrounded by several rows of trees and some seating.
