Cecilio Vega Domínguez
Cecilio Vega Domínguez OMI (born September 8, 1913 in Villamor de Órbigo , † July 24, 1936 in Pozuelo , Madrid ) was a Spanish Oblate of the Immaculate Virgin Mary .
He made his first vows on August 15, 1931, and in 1934 the perpetual vows . He was a theology student and had already been ordained as a sub-deacon . On July 22, 1936, as part of the religious persecution in Spain, he was arrested together with his confreres in their own monastery and on July 24, 1936, he was executed along with six other Oblates .
The beatification of the 22 Spanish Oblate martyrs, including Cecilio Vega Domínguez, took place on December 17, 2011 in Madrid Cathedral .
