The Cedar River ( English for " cedar river") is a river in the US state of Washington .

The river has its source in the Cascade Range and flows southwest through the natural Chester Morse Lake, which was set as a water reservoir in 1900, and then through a smaller lake called Masonry Pool . Then it flows westward to Maple Valley before changing its course northwest in numerous meanders . After 72 km it flows into the southern end of Lake Washington at Renton .
