Cedric Lynch

Cedric Lynch (born December 1955 ) is a British industrialist and inventor .

Lynch stood out during a competition organized by industry investors and the Institution of Mechanical Engineers , in which the aim was to make a motorboat travel as far as possible on just one battery charge.

His home-made DC motor with permanent magnets and some components that were complicated up to this point, which he made from flattened cans ( baked beans ), set new standards with energy efficiency, longevity and, above all, its simplicity.

After this success, Lynch went into small series with his (with the help of the Battery Vehicle Society) improved motor and was finally added to the range by the LEMCO company which now sells the so-called Lynch motors under the name "LMC The Lynch Motor Company" .

After she fired him, after a generous severance payment, he founded his own company Agni Motors, which produces a further developed form of the Lynch motor. This merged with Agility Global in 2015 to form the Saietta Group, which uses its motors for a high-performance electric motorcycle, among other things.

Due to their efficiency, their robustness, their exchangeable shaft and, above all, because they are very powerful compared to their low dead weight, their engines are widely used in recreational shipping , model making and karting .

The most famous successes in which Cedric Lynchs Motoren were involved:

  • World record for battery-powered boats in 1989 (81.78 km / h)
  • World record for battery-powered boats in 2005 (109.56 km / h)
  • 4th place as the only self-made product during AUSTRO SOLAR 1997
  • June 12, 2009: 8 of 13 teams ride with Lynch motors in the Tourist Trophy ( Isle of Man ) in the first competition of the TTXGP class (electric bikes). The winner is the Agni team.
