The Central Association of German Professional Photographers ( spelling : Central Association of German Professional Photographers , abbreviation: CV) is the federal association of the existing photography guilds and the state guild associations .

The Centralverband was founded in 1904 as a federal guild association for photographers in the trade. It is considered the oldest and most important body to represent organized professional photographers on a craft, economic and political level in Germany and to play a key role in shaping the professional profile of the craft photographer as well as his training and examination content.

The tasks of the federal association are primarily based on the stipulations of the craft regulations and the statutes of the CV. According to this, the federal association is responsible for so-called "mandatory and optional tasks". history

The photography profession was considered established by 1900, but the general situation had changed dramatically over the years. A strong community of interests was required and necessary. In 1904 it was founded as the Central Association of German Professional Photographers - (CV-DBPh).

membership

Members of the federal association can be: The state guild associations of the artisan photographers, guilds and independent craftsmen. The association has had around 300 active members for many years, some of which are internationally known.

Structure and organization

Members come from all areas of photography. As the umbrella organization of the state guilds, the association sees itself as the employer representation of photographers. The association is involved in the organization of German crafts and represents professional photographers. The photography industry is divided into guilds, chambers and professional associations. Masters can voluntarily join together in a guild. The photographers are united in around 45 guilds and represent the interests of employers on site. With 2.7 employees per company, these master craftsmen provide around 650 to 800 apprenticeship positions per year. At the state level, these guilds can merge into a professional or state guild association (LIV), which in turn form the federal guilds and the federal guild association (CV-DBPh) at the federal level. The 46 central specialist associations and the 55 professional chambers are united in the Central Association of German Crafts (ZDH). This represents the overall interests of the craft towards the Bundestag , Federal Government and other central authorities .

Vocational training

Cooperations

The association maintains contacts with the leading international associations - FEP and WCCP . In 2009, the APPI rejoined the association from which it had once emerged as an independent working group. Since May 2012 fotograf.de (Photographers Online Service GmbH) is a partner of the Central Association of German Professional Photographers. The CentralVerband is working with fotograf.de on a certification for photographers to promote quality in the field of photography.

Arbitrator and reviewer

The association is the recognized authority for the appointment of experts and the implementation of arbitration procedures.
