The Center national du cinéma et de l'image animée ( CNC ) is the French state film funding agency based in Paris' 16th arrondissement .

The CNC was founded in 1946 under the name Center national de la cinématographie and is subordinate to the French Ministry of Culture . The head of the authority (currently producer Véronique Cayla ) is appointed by the Minister of Culture. In 2011, films were funded with 720 million euros.

The CNC manages a film archive in the former fortress of Bois-d'Arcy near Versailles . It is a member of the TV France International distribution association .
