Jacob Silbermann
Jacob Silbermann (born July 28, 1907 in Romania , † March 24, 1978 in Düsseldorf ) was a Romanian chess player, trainer and historian.
Life
Together with Esteban Canal he shared the tournament victory in Reus (Spain) in 1936 . From 1949 to 1963 he coached the Romanian national team. Silbermann later lived in Düsseldorf. He was a lawyer. Together with Wolfgang Unzicker , he published a history of the game of chess in 1975 . In addition to the work of the historical chess masters, he was also interested in the influence of the game of chess on various areas of life.
