Founded in 1993, Centrum Bank Aktiengesellschaft was a private bank with its headquarters in Vaduz in the Principality of Liechtenstein . Centrum Bank was also represented in Switzerland with a subsidiary . This was a legally independent, wholly owned subsidiary of Centrum Bank AG in Vaduz.
The bank employed around 130 people at its two locations in Vaduz and Zurich (December 31, 2009).
As a pure private bank for national and international customers, Centrum Bank concentrated on the core competencies of asset management and investment advice . In addition to the investment business, the private bank also offered loans.
The bank had stable and clear ownership and was not listed. The majority of the shares are controlled by the owner family. Members of the Liechtenstein family were the third generation to work in the group of companies.
According to a joint communication and VP Bank dated December 1, 2014, a merger between the two institutions was planned for January 2015. Following approval by the supervisory authorities on January 7, 2015, VP Bank took over the shares in Centrum Bank from the Marxer Foundation for Bank Values, while at the same time the foundation invested the same amount in VP Bank. After the merger, the company operates under the name VP Bank AG.
