The Cerapoda are a taxon of the bird basin dinosaurs (Ornithischia) established by Sereno in 1986 . Cerapoda have an intermaxillary bone (premaxillary) with fewer than six teeth, a strong diastema ( Greek for "space") and asymmetrical tooth enamel on the teeth in the upper and lower jaw.

Systematics

The Cerapoda includes the Ornithopoda and the Pachycephalosauria and Ceratopia , which together form the taxon Marginocephalia . Its sister taxons are the Thyreophora , which include the armored dinosaur taxa Stegosauria and Ankylosauria .
