Cerezales del Condado is a Spanish village in the province of León . It belongs to the Municipio Vegas del Condado and is located on the east bank of the Río Porma River .

The village is bordered by Lugán to the north, Valporquero de Rueda to the northeast, San Bartolomé de Rueda to the east, Garfín and Valdealcón to the southeast, Vegas del Condado to the south, Devesa de Curueño to the southwest and Ambasaguas de Curueño to the west .

The Iglesia de San Juan Bautista

The patron saint of the village church, which was probably completed in the 18th century, is Juan el Bautista ( John the Baptist ). A chapel dedicated to the Brotherhood of Santo Cristo has been located in the village since the early 20th century. The church and chapel were renovated with the help of Antonino Fernández Rodríguez (1917–2016).

Personalities

  • Antonino Fernández Rodríguez (1917–2016), long-time head of the Grupo Modelo brewery group , was born in Cerezales del Condado. Since 2008, Cerezales del Condado has also been the seat of the Fundación Cerezales Antonino y Cinia (FCAYC) foundation, which he founded .
