The Cerro El Abismo (from Spanish abismo 'abyss' ) is a hill on Livingston Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . On the west side of Cape Shirreff , the northern end of the John Paul II peninsula , it rises immediately south of Playa Pocitas .
