The Cerro Pehuenche ( Spanish ) is a hill on Livingston Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . At Cape Shirreff , the northern end of the John Paul II peninsula , it rises northwest of Lake Oculto and north of Cerro El Toqui .
Chilean scientists named it after the Pehuenche people in southern Chile .
