The Cerro Verde or Cuntetepeque is an extinct volcano in the Santa Ana department , El Salvador . Humus has been introduced into its crater by erosion and it is covered with cloud forest. It is located in the Parque Natural Cerro Verde which is managed by the Instituto Salvadoreño de Turismo . It offers views of the volcanoes Ilamatepec , Izalco and Lago de Coatepeque .
