The Cerro de los Siete Colores is a mountain in Purmamarca , in northwest Argentina . The mountain and town are in the Tumbaya department in the Jujuy province . The mountain is located on the western edge of Purmamarca and has a height of around 2460 meters.
The different shades of color are caused by the high concentration of different minerals in the rocks. With its variety of colors, the mountain is typical of the pastel-colored, largely vegetation-free mountain world of the Puna .
