Cervélo ( Portmanteau word from the Italian Cervello , German: brain, and the French Vélo , German: bicycle) is a Canadian bicycle manufacturer and was founded in 1995 by Phil White and Gérard Vroomen. In 1996 the first series-ready carbon frame weighing less than 1 kg was manufactured. Today almost all well-known manufacturers have such a frame in their range.

Cervélo equipped the Danish ProTeam CSC until the end of the 2008 season . From 2009 to 2010 the company ran its own cycling team under the name Cervélo TestTeam . In the 2011 season, this merged with the former Garmin-Transitions team to form the Garmin-Cervélo team . Even after that, Cervélo remained the supplier of several international men's cycling teams. Also in women's cycling , Cervélo u. a. the Cervélo Bigla Pro Cycling Team .

Distribution in Germany is carried out by Cervélo Europe , a subsidiary of Derby Cycle Holding GmbH .

In February 2012 it became known that the Dutch Pon Holding had completely taken over Cervélo .
